Early Learners

Our activities vary on a daily basis and can include den making, messy play, bug hunting, story telling and lots of opportunities to explore and learn.  All our activities are set up and planned to provide high quality learning through play, with a particular focus on literacy, numeracy and health and wellbeing, in line with the requirements of the Curriculum for Excellence.  We aim to get outside every day, meaning the children get plenty of fresh air and exercise, whilst getting to make the most of the natural resources available to us within the village.

We also offer a wraparound service, picking your child up from West Linton Primary School ELC, before being escorted safely to the New Church Hall.

What to bring to each session

  • Early Learners Bag (given to you on your first visit) containing a change of clothes
  • Indoor shoes
  • Wellies, weather dependant
  • Nappies and wipes where applicable
  • Coat, suitable for the weather
  • Hat, suitable for the weather
  • Suncream (weather dependent)

In summer, please ensure your child(ren) has sunscreen applied prior to coming as we like to be outside whenever the Scottish weather allows!

To prevent clothes getting mixed up, please clearly name all of your children’s belongings, especially shoes (indoor and outdoor) coats, gloves and hats.
